Eldridge Man Injured in Crash, Suspected of DWI

On June 10, 2025, 21-year-old William R. Klieber of Eldridge, Missouri, was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Highway E near the Highway 5 junction.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), Klieber was driving a 2003 GMC Sonoma when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, overturned, and struck a road sign. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for medical treatment.

Authorities determined that Klieber was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was taken into custody by Greene County deputies and released to the hospital staff for continued care.

At this time, it's unclear whether Greene County will extradite Klieber to Laclede County to face possible charges, though it's likely given that the incident occurred within Laclede County jurisdiction.
